Myzine ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS mobile application and services.

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Password (encrypted and securely hashed)
• Language preference (English or Chinese)
• Email verification status

2.2 Magazine & Content Data

To personalize your magazine experience, we collect:

• Magazine preferences (topics, interests, reading preferences)
• User-created magazine titles and customizations
• Magazine cover customization data
• Reading history and issue downloads
• Content delivery cadence preferences (3, 5, or 7 days)

2.3 Subscription & Payment Information

• Apple In-App Purchase transaction IDs
• Subscription tier (Free, Standard, Premium)
• Subscription status and renewal dates
• Trial period usage

Note: We do NOT collect credit card information. All payments are processed securely by Apple through the App Store.

2.4 Device Information

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications
• Device language and locale settings

2.5 Usage Data

We collect minimal analytics to improve our service:

• App events (magazine creation, issue generation)
• Basic feature usage patterns
• Error logs for debugging

• Alert you about magazine generation status
• Send subscription and account updates

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Myzine:

4.1 Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• AWS S3: Stores magazine covers and generated content
• AWS SES: Sends transactional emails (verification, password reset)

4.2 Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google)

• Delivers push notifications to your iOS device

4.3 AI Services

• Powers AI content generation and magazine cover images
• Your magazine preferences are sent to AI services to generate personalized content
• Data is processed according to service provider API policies

4.4 Apple App Store

• Processes in-app purchases and subscriptions
• We receive transaction receipts to verify subscriptions

5. Data Storage & Security

5.1 Storage Location

• User account data: Secure cloud database
• Magazine content: Cloud storage (US region)
• Local device: Magazine issues stored on your iPhone for offline reading

5.2 Security Measures

• Passwords are securely hashed using industry-standard encryption
• All API communications use HTTPS encryption
• Secure token-based authentication
• Cloud infrastructure security and compliance standards

6. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained while your account is active
• Magazine content: Stored unless you delete magazines
• Issue content: Stored on your device for offline access
• Deleted accounts: All data permanently deleted within 30 days

7. Your Rights & Choices

7.1 Access & Correction

You can access and update your account information within the app's Profile section.

7.2 Data Deletion

You can delete individual magazines from the app. For full account deletion, go to Profile → Delete Account in the app. You can also contact jacknkalen@gmail.com for assistance.

7.3 Push Notifications

You can disable push notifications through iOS Settings > Myzine > Notifications.

7.4 Email Communications

You cannot opt out of transactional emails (verification, password reset), but we do not send marketing emails.

8. International Users & China Access

Myzine is available to users worldwide, including China:

• The app and TestFlight work in China without VPN
• We support Chinese language (简体中文)
• Your data is stored on AWS servers (outside of China)
• If your backend API is blocked in China, you may need network configuration

9. Children's Privacy

Myzine is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending a push notification for major changes
